Gaghiel is a gigantic aquatic monster with a massive body and long jaws serrated with sharp teeth. It attacked the UN Pacific fleet while secretly delivering EVA-02. With the aquatic environment on Gaghiel side, the EVA unit find is difficult to defeat the strong monster. Misato made up a plan using 2 battleship to lodge into it's mouth while EVA-02 forces it to open it's mouth and finally fire at the Gaghiel before blowing up both the warship.
